Temple of Saturn Self-researched

Location: Roman Forum, Rome
Date: Originally dedicated 497 BC; current ruins from 42 BC reconstruction

An ancient Roman temple to the god Saturn, standing at the foot of the Capitoline Hill at the western end of the Roman Forum. Eight impressive columns and part of the entablature remain standing. The temple housed the state treasury (aerarium) and was the focus of the Saturnalia festival, one of the most popular Roman holidays.
