Jacob
Summary
Jacob, later named Israel, was a Hebrew patriarch who deceived his father Isaac to receive his brother Esau's blessing. After years in exile working for his father-in-law Laban, he returned to Canaan with his large family and flocks. He is considered the father of the twelve tribes of Israel.
