Italian architect and sculptor, one of the greatest active in Venice in the latter half of the fifteenth century. Best known for the Scala dei Giganti (Giants' Staircase) at the Doge's Palace. Created three Renaissance altars in St Mark's Basilica featuring statues of saints in elegant tabernacles.
